2009 Members’ Social Event – Curry Night!
At the end of August, Earth Matters’ directors prepared a selection of curries and desserts for the members. Although the weather was not quite as conducive to sitting outside as for the Paella Night in 2008, some hardy souls braved the cold for a while, before retreating inside. It was a very enjoyable evening, and we all returned home stuffed full of good food!
2008 Members’ Night - Paella Party
On the last (and perhaps only) truly warm night of the summer, Earth Matters members and volunteers gathered to eat delicious paella and sit outside in the gathering dark. The paella was provided by Richard, a volunteer in the shop, who also, luckily for us, runs a paella business, with scrumptious puddings provided by his wife. The chat went on until late into the night and a lovely time was had by all.
2007 Greek Night
At the end of term, Earth Matters’ volunteers and members met for a fun evening with lots of great Greek food. On a Friday night, the unassuming Butternut Café in North Berwick is transformed into Andreas’s Taverna, with Greek music, food, jollity and not to mention the Greek maitre d’, Andreas himself.
By all accounts, everyone enjoyed the evening immensely, even if some were so full they could barely make it home!
